Born in Spain, trained with Victor Ullate in Madrid, at the Ecole de Danse Classique “Princesse Grace”in Monte Carlo and the John Cranko School in Stuttgart.
In 1992 Silvia joined Stuttgart Ballet and danced many Soloist and Principal roles. After five years she became a member of Birmingham Royal Ballet as a Soloist before being promoted to Senior Soloist 2002. She has performed many leading roles in the classical repertoire such as Odette/Odille, Sugar Plum Fairy and Queen of the Willis. She has also performed leading roles in ballets by George Balanchine, John Cranko, Frederick Ashton, Kenneth MacMillan, and David Bintley amongst others. She has worked with many choreographers like Uwe Scholz, Nacho Duato, Hans van Manen, Renato Zanella, Stephan Toss.
In 2011 after eighteen years as a professional dancer she obtained the Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma awarded by the RAD and qualified as a teacher. She now works as a Freelance ballet teacher and has taught in various vocational schools in Spain, thorough out Europe and all over the UK. She teaches regularly for the RAD Associates classes and has been a guest teacher with the BBO. She has been invited as a Guest Teacher to Stuttgart Ballet, Company Wayne McGregor, Graz Oper in Austria and Birmingham Royal Ballet in many occasions, and she also coaches their dancers regularly. She has taught at DanceXchange since 2011. She is a Level 3 Matt Pilates Instructor and a qualified Progressing Ballet Technique Teacher.
