Elmhurst Summer Schools Success

Our Summer Schools this year proved to be yet another huge success with students travelling from as far as Australia and Japan.

Our Upper School Summer School was delivered by dancers from Birmingham Royal Ballet holding workshops for ballet and pointe work, including repertoire led by Artistic Director Robert Parker from David Bintley’s Carmina Burana. Marion Tait also gave a stunning mime workshop enjoyed by many. It was wonderful to see Elmhurst Alumni who currently dance with Birmingham Royal Ballet lead their first classes. We are incredibly proud to see how far they have come and be a part of their first teaching experience. Our Lower School Summer School was delivered by Elmhurst staff who gave lessons in ballet, pointe work, technique and taught repertoire from a variety of British classics. Both schools ended on a high with their ‘Sharing of Work’, a performance of all they had learnt in the theatre, much to the delight of their families and friends.
